Sep 27, 2023
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday announced a major decision to strengthen women's empowerment in the state. Under the new plan, every district will have two women police stations, each headed by a woman police officer. The women police stations will be under the direct supervision of the chief minister.

Adityanath also warned that any police officer found to be involved in corruption or misconduct would be dismissed from service. He also directed police officers to increase patrolling and take strict action against any crime, regardless of the perpetrator.

In addition, Adityanath announced that a new phase of the Mission Shakti program will be launched during the upcoming Sharadiya Navratri festival. Under this phase, women will be empowered in villages across the state through the help of "Shakti Didi" volunteers.

Adityanath also directed police officers to complete the security arrangements for 17 municipal corporations, including Gautam Buddh Nagar, by October 14.
