In case of increase in the number of assembly members, additional space will be required in the Legislative Assembly. In such a situation, the government is emphasizing on alternative arrangements. At present, during the session, heavy traffic jam like situation arises in Hazratganj and surrounding areas. In view of this, a plan to shift it to another place was under consideration.
Will be equipped with modern facilities
The new Legislative Building of UP will be equipped with modern facilities. The new Legislative Building will be made eco-friendly, earthquake resistant and equipped with fire safety. The Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council will be kept in a new shape. Apart from this, arrangements like a central hall will be prepared for the joint session. The plan was made in 1922
The plan for construction of Vidhan Bhavan of UP was made in the year 1922. Sir Spencer Harcourt Butler, Governor of the British Government, laid the foundation of the Legislative Building of UP on 15 December 1992. Thus this Legislative Building is more than 100 years old. Sitting arrangements for 403 MLAs
Arrangements have been made to seat 403 MLAs in the UP Assembly. The building displays European and Awadhi architectural styles. It was constructed by M/s Martin & Company of Kolkata. Half circle design
The country's Parliament was built by the British in a circular design. UP Vidhan Bhavan was given the shape of a half circle. Brown colored sandstone blocks brought from Chunar of Mirzapur were used in the construction of the two-storey Vidhan Bhavan. There is a Gothic style dome in the middle of this half circle shaped Legislative Building. Under this dome, there is a main hall with eight corners. of the hall The architecture is of visible mosaic style.
The dome shaped ceiling of the hall has lattices. Apart from this, the beautiful shape of eight peacocks attracts people. There are big lobbies on both sides of this hall for the assembly members. At the same time, the dome was decorated with large-sized stone sculptures in Roman style all around. On the exterior of the building, the state emblem of the state is made of marble above the portico.
Construction of galleries from marble
The galleries of UP Vidhan Bhavan are constructed from marble stone. These have been used in the construction of the hall. These marble stones were brought from Agra and Jaipur. To reach the upper floor, there are beautiful circular marble stairs on both sides of the main gate. A different type of painting has been done on the walls. This makes UP Vidhan Bhavan special.
