Report: Ravi Dalmia
On the first day of the winter session of the Delhi Assembly, Chief Minister Atishi made a shocking offer to the Leader of Opposition of the BJP Legislature Party, Vijender Gupta. She said that if Vijender Gupta gets the Lieutenant Governor (LG) to approve the proposal to appoint bus marshals, she will ask her party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), not to field any candidate on the Rohini assembly seat.
Not only this, Atishi also offered to campaign for Vijender Gupta. This statement of Atishi is being considered a big political gamble of the Aam Aadmi Party before the assembly elections.
The issue of appointment of bus marshals also remained hot during the session. Responding to the allegations of the opposition, Chief Minister Atishi clarified that the decision to remove the bus marshals was not of the then Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. She told that now she is the Chief Minister and she herself has requested the LG to reinstate the bus marshals. After this statement, there has been a stir in Delhi politics. This offer of Atishi is being seen as a new strategy on the political front.
