In Kanpur's Karrahi area, a tragic incident occurred where a speeding and uncontrolled car hit a middle-aged man selling balloons on a bicycle. The collision caused the man to fall on the road, where he became trapped in the car’s front section and was dragged for approximately 25 meters. The car eventually stopped after crashing into a parked bike. Despite being rushed to the hospital by bystanders, the man succumbed to his injuries, and doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

The driver of the car, identified as Pawan Kumar, had recently purchased the vehicle for ?1.10 lakh from an acquaintance in Lucknow. On the day of the incident, Pawan lost control of the car while driving and collided with the cyclist. Instead of stopping, he attempted to flee, which led to the victim being dragged along with the car. The situation caused panic among the witnesses, who intervened to rescue the victim and detained the driver.

The entire incident was recorded on a nearby CCTV camera, providing crucial evidence for the authorities. The victim’s identity remains unknown, and police efforts are underway to ascertain it. The car's collision with a parked motorcycle also caused further damage as the bike was thrown into a nearby drain due to the impact.

Acting Barra Police Station In-Charge Arvind Kumar Sharma stated that the victim’s body was sent for post-mortem examination. Local residents played a significant role in assisting with the rescue and ensuring the driver was handed over to the police. The investigation is ongoing to gather more details about the circumstances leading to the accident.
