On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, lakhs of devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, braving cold weather and dense fog, to take part in the sacred "Amrit Snan," marking the first holy dip of Mahakumbh 2025. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his heartfelt wishes to the devotees and highlighted the global significance of the Mahakumbh. He mentioned that an estimated 1.75 crore devotees participated in the ritual on Monday, showcasing the spiritual attraction this event holds across the country and the world.
To ensure a smooth and organized Amrit Snan for the 13 Akharas, the administration issued a specific schedule. The sequence began with Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani and Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhara, followed by other Shaivite and Vaishnavite groups. The event reflected the deep cultural and religious significance of Mahakumbh, as well as the meticulous efforts made by the authorities to manage such a massive gathering.
