Uttar Pradesh: Police Raid Unveils Secret Gambling Operation, 35 Arrested
A major gambling operation was uncovered in the Ramgarh area of Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. A locked house in Barah Bigha Abbas Nagar had been discreetly hosting a large group of gamblers who were betting millions of rupees without any fear of detection. From the outside, the house appeared normal, and there were no signs of the illegal activity taking place inside.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team arrived at the location and executed a well-coordinated raid. They managed to enter the house and, in a strategic move, locked it from the inside to prevent anyone from escaping. The raid caused panic among the gamblers, who scrambled to evade arrest but were unsuccessful due to the swift action of the police.
During the operation, the police arrested 35 individuals, most of whom were found to be residents of Agra. A significant amount of cash—?29.90 lakh—was recovered, along with 34 mobile phones, 8 motorcycles, and one car. All the seized items were taken into police custody, and the arrested individuals were transported to the Ramgarh police station.
The raid was not only meticulous but also involved a large deployment of police personnel. Once the initial team secured the premises, additional forces were called in to ensure a smooth operation. Senior police officials, including CO City Arun Kumar Chaurasia and Station Officer Sanjeev Dubey, personally oversaw the raid to ensure its success.
This gambling operation had been running for some time, with participants reportedly placing high-stakes bets worth millions. The police acted swiftly to disrupt this illegal activity, ensuring that no one escaped and all evidence was secured. The arrested individuals are scheduled to be presented in court on Monday, where further legal action will be determined.
This incident has raised awareness about the prevalence of gambling activities in the region. Law enforcement officials have emphasized their commitment to rooting out such unlawful practices and maintaining peace and order. The successful raid serves as a strong warning to those involved in similar activities across the state.
