The government has unlocked its funds to transform Jhansi into a major tourism hub and safeguard its ancient heritage. A large sum of Rs. 41 crores is proposed for enhancing tourism facilities in Bundelkhand. Modern amenities will be rolled out at tourist spots using this budget. Furthermore, selfie points, food plazas, and homestays will be introduced for visitors. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath kickstarted the development projects of tourism sites in the district virtually on Monday.
Despite boasting numerous tourist attractions, Bundelkhand sees relatively few visitors due to underdevelopment. To address this, the state government has embarked on an initiative to revitalize and beautify these destinations. Among the sites slated for development in Jhansi are the Kedareshwar Temple in Mauranipur, Baruasagar Fort, Madhya Ghat, Hanuman Garhi Temple in Tahrauli's Lathwara, Gursarai's Goddess Talab, Parichha Thermal Power Station's Buddha Vihar Center, and Mont Fort. Additionally, improvement works are planned for the Dhwaja Mata Temple in Mont and the Sukhnai River's banks in Mauranipur.
Other initiatives include constructing CC roads from Balabehat Fort to the bus stand in Lalitpur, enhancing parking and tourism facilities at Madavra Fort, ensuring security and tourism amenities at Saunrai Fort, providing parking at Banpur Fort, and installing street lights at Madavra Fort. Furthermore, modern amenities will be developed at attractions like Amjharaghat, Bandarguha, Kakaravali Waterfall, and Badaroun to entice tourists.
The beautification of historical and tourist sites such as Itaura Madhav Garh Nati Ghat, Akshara Devi Temple, Sharada Mata Temple, Jala Ghat of Jalaun Fort, and Ved Vyas Temple in Kalpi is also on the agenda. The groundwork for development projects at all these archaeological and tourist sites was laid on Monday. With work already underway, Jhansi's educationalist legislator Babulal Tiwari from Jhansi NICS oversaw the program's broadcast and provided directives to advance the development plans in the presence of District Tourism Officer Kirti, Archaeological Officer Dr. Manoj Yadav, and Museum Curator Assistant Uma Parashar.
