Entrepreneurship Orientation organised in Bundelkhand University

Feb 19, 2024

In a prelude to the groundbreaking ceremony in Lucknow, Prof. Arvind Kumar, a renowned academic and former Vice Chancellor of Rani Laxmibai Central University, emphasized the significance of Uttar Pradesh's 9% contribution to the nation's GDP. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate in transforming the state into a one trillion-dollar economy. Prof. Kumar encouraged students to embark on entrepreneurial ventures, highlighting the government's supportive schemes. He emphasized the importance of students becoming job creators rather than job seekers, as this is a concern shared by the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of India, who aim to elevate the country's position from the fifth to the third largest economy in the world.

Uttar Pradesh Government Special Secretary Dhirendra Sachan, the main speaker of the event, underscored the role of universities as incubators of the nation's future leaders. He noted that students graduating from these institutions assume various positions and roles, including in politics. Mr. Sachan announced that companies from 22 countries are investing in the state, with an MoU worth approximately Rs 38 lakh crore signed during the 'Global Investors Summit 2023'. The first phase of this investment will be marked by a groundbreaking ceremony on February 19, 2024, in Lucknow, with projects valued at about Rs 10 lakh crore. These new investments are expected to generate approximately 35 lakh new employment opportunities in the state.

Acting Vice Chancellor Professor SP Singh pledged the university's commitment to enhancing students' abilities and called upon them to contribute to the overall development of the state. The 'Entrepreneurship Orientation Program' aimed to inform students about the state government's policies to attract capital investment and foster entrepreneurship.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Dr. Muralidhar Ram, Prof. Sunil Kumar Kabia, Prof. SK Katiyar, Prof. DK Bhatt, and Prof. Devesh Nigam, along with teachers, non-teaching staff, and students of the university family. The collective conviction of the speakers and attendees was evident in their shared goal of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a thriving economic powerhouse, with students playing a pivotal role in this endeavor.
