Two youths were burnt alive in a horrific accident on the Kanpur Highway in Jhansi late on Wednesday night. Actually the driver of a truck fell asleep. After this the truck jumped the divider and collided with another truck in the wrong direction. After this both the trucks caught fire.

 

After the accident, the driver and cleaner of a truck saved their lives by jumping. While the driver and cleaner of the other truck remained trapped in the cabin of the truck. The fire could be controlled after two hours with the help of four firefighters. By then both were badly burnt. The dead have not been identified yet.

The accident happened on Kanpur Highway bypass of Chirgaon police station area. It is being told that a truck loaded with ballast from Jhansi was going towards Kanpur. When the truck reached Chirgaon bypass, the driver dozed off. After this, the truck lost its balance and climbed the divider and went in the wrong direction and collided with a truck filled with sand. After this, the trucks caught fire with a loud explosion. Seeing the smoke, the driver and cleaner of one truck jumped to save their lives, while the driver and cleaner of the other truck remained trapped.

 

 

The fire was extinguished after two hours of effort

After the fire was extinguished, they broke the cabin with the JCB to take out the dead body.

 

After the accident, nearby people gathered and the police were informed. SDM and police reached the spot and started rescue work. One by one 4 fire engines also reached. The fire could be controlled after two hours of hard work. The cabin of the truck was badly damaged due to the accident. Then both the bodies could be removed by cutting them with JCB and cutter. The dead have not been identified yet. The police have kept both the bodies in the mortuary of Jhansi Medical College. Meanwhile, the driver of the other truck, Azad Yadav, was injured.

 

 

Chirgaon police station in-charge Santosh Kumar Awasthi says that the deceased have not been identified yet. The owner is being traced from the truck number. So that we can know who were the two people on the truck. The dead bodies have been kept in the mortuary.
