Over the years the government has tried to curb the incidents of dowry as it often ends up the bride’s family in debt. Socialists claim this to be the predominant challenge in achieving zero girl child foeticide. 

UP government is running a scheme to ensure no socially backward girl is left behind to get married for the lack of resources. Jhansi administration has been pointed out and instructed to meet the required targets under the scheme by the Chief Ministers Office.
