Jhansi | Jhansi Municipal Corporation has unanimously approved the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. The proposed budget, amounting to an impressive ?387 crores, was meticulously deliberated upon during the meeting chaired by Mayor Bihari Lal Arya. Now, with the seal of approval secured, the budget awaits further consideration and endorsement in the upcoming Municipal Corporation Board meeting.
The comprehensive budget encompasses a wide spectrum of critical areas, including development projects, cleanliness initiatives, beautification efforts, infrastructure construction, and employee welfare. Notable discussions revolved around allocations for gardens, lighting systems, and the acquisition of essential equipment within the metropolis.
Among the key figures present were Municipal Commissioner Satyaprakash, Additional Municipal Commissioner Muhammad Qamar, and Roli Gupta, along with other esteemed members. The budget’s revenue sources are diverse, drawing from the 15th Finance Commission Fund, schemes, and various taxes, including house tax and shop rent. Additionally, fines related to encroachment and contractors, as well as income from auctions and other items, contribute to the financial pool.
As the metropolis gears up for progress, approximately 40 Crore will be allocated to enhance the cleaning system and support the salaries and allowances of dedicated cleaning workers. This strategic budget aims to propel Jhansi toward a brighter and more prosperous future.
