Markets in Jhansi prepares for Holi with Herbal Gulal and Gujiya

As the spirit of Holi permeates every corner, preparations have begun in  full swing—from households to local markets.

 

Markets are now gleaming  with Pichkari masks and herbal hues. Sweet shops, namkeen vendors, and gujiya sellers have also joined in the festive decoration.

 

Pundits have marked Phalgun Shukla Paksha Purnima on March 24th, the day for Holi.

 

For children, items like Dorigan, Pogi Mon, Chhota Bheem, and Krrish are chief attractions. Alongside these, playful toys and cartoon characters are also trending.

 

Currently, the market is filled with a light-hearted atmosphere, expected to escalate in the next day or two. Among the offerings are toys and cartoon-themed Pichkaris, priced between 100 to 200 rupees. Children particularly favoring designs featuring duck-word, duck-tank, elephant tanker, Ganesh, horse-cart, duck, and gun. Additionally, standing pitchers and water-carrying gun-pichkaris are in demand.

 

Herbal colors and gulal are gaining popularity. In various markets—such as Sipri, Sadar, Barabazar, Khatibaba, Bharat Mata Mandir, Isitola, Nagara, Nainagarh, Mahaveeranpura, Khaira, Manik Chowk, Sindhi Tiraha, Kotwali ki Dhal, and Naria Bazaar—vendors emphasize the use of skin-friendly herbal gulal and colors. These include Joker, Herbal, Gulal, and Spray, with Herbal Gulal packets priced between Rs 20 to Rs 50. The fragrant gulal adds to the festive atmosphere.
