Following the closure of schools due to the ongoing cold wave, Anganwadi centers have also been declared closed until January 14. The decision was announced by District Program Officer K.K. Rai, emphasizing the need to safeguard children from the adverse effects of the severe winter season.

Anganwadi centers, which cater to children aged three to six years, will remain shut temporarily, but essential services will not be disrupted. Nutritional supplements for children will continue to be distributed as planned. Additionally, community-based activities, village health and nutrition days, Aadhaar and mobile verification, and the regular distribution of nutrition will be carried out on their scheduled dates without interruption.

District Program Officer K.K. Rai further explained that this precautionary measure aligns with the earlier decision to grant holidays to school children up to class 8 until January 14. The cold wave has made it imperative to take such measures to ensure the well-being and health of young children.

Parents are advised to stay informed about the resumption of activities and make necessary arrangements for their children. The authorities are committed to continuing essential services and ensuring that the nutritional needs of the children are met during this period of closure.
