Aligarh, UP: Allegations against a couple for selling donated land through fraudulent means; case registered.

Jan 06, 2025

A villager from Pipli Khurd in Gonda district has filed a police report accusing army personnel Rohitash and his wife of defrauding him by selling land that had already been gifted. This case involves serious allegations of deception, theft, and physical assault.

As per the complainant, Gyan Singh, the issue began when he finalized a transfer deed for six bighas of land with Rohitash on August 18, 2021. Gyan Singh believed this transaction was entirely lawful and subsequently took possession of the land, starting cultivation and farming activities. However, some time later, Gyan Singh discovered that the same piece of land had been transferred by Rohitash to his wife through a registered gift deed on February 11, 2020—over a year before the sale to Gyan Singh. This revelation came as a shock, leading Gyan Singh to question the validity of the transaction and accuse the couple of fraud.

In addition to this, Gyan Singh alleged that Rohitash had managed to acquire his debit card under false pretenses. Using this card, Rohitash reportedly withdrew ?2.5 lakh, adding a significant financial burden to Gyan Singh. The complainant stated that this act was part of a larger conspiracy by the couple to exploit him both financially and emotionally.

The conflict intensified on November 3, 2021, when Gyan Singh went to the fields for sowing crops. At this time, he claimed, Rohitash and his wife confronted him and started hurling abusive language. The situation quickly escalated into physical violence, with Gyan Singh alleging that the couple assaulted him, leaving him humiliated and fearful.

Feeling helpless and betrayed, Gyan Singh approached the police, demanding justice for the alleged fraud, theft, and assault. He expressed concerns about the deliberate planning and malicious intent of the couple, urging the authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly. The incident has drawn attention to the rising number of land-related fraud cases in rural areas, underlining the importance of thorough legal checks during property transactions.
