Makar Sankranti fair organised by Gram Panchayat Mahoba has started with the inauguration ceremony. 

History

This fair has been organised continuously for around 100 years. This practice was started by Pt Harprasad Harzariya and Chaudhary Swami Prasad during the British era. 

Address and timing 

This fair is being held in the town of Jaitpur's Shri Raghunath Temple premises. It is scheduled to be a 15 day fair and expected to gather a crowd in thousands from nearby towns and districts. 

Fair has many shops and peculiar swings for inquisitive young crowds. 

The security is maintained by a temporary police chowki with the help of 12 CCTV cameras in the premises so that people can enjoy the shopping experience without any threats.
