The proposal for implementing the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model in South and East UP Discoms is nearing Cabinet approval. The Energy Department is currently working on the preparation of the Request for Proposal (RFP), which will soon be submitted for approval. Once the Cabinet grants approval, the process for inviting tenders will begin.

In a recent meeting of the Power Corporation's Board of Directors and the Energy Task Force, the RFP for the PPP model was already given the green light. This move is part of the government's ongoing efforts to enhance the power distribution sector through private partnerships.

However, the decision has sparked strong opposition from the Struggle Committee. They have accused the Power Corporation's management of intentionally creating an environment conducive to a strike, which could lead to unnecessary industrial unrest in the state’s energy sector.

In response to this decision, the Struggle Committee has announced that they will be holding protest meetings across Uttar Pradesh on December 7th. They believe the management is attempting to impose a strike on the employees, further escalating tensions in the energy sector.
